Use of the internet as a tool for the creation of resources
Introduction
On the course so far we have considered the following:
Task 1: how education systems have adapted to meet the needs of society
Task 2: some challenges and opportunities when teaching 21st century learners
Task 3: storytelling as a meaningful learning activity
Task 4: different ways technology is being used in education
In Task 5 we are going to investigate some tools which we can use to address the uses outlined in Task 4:
find and represent educational problems
find resources
summarize and present findings
collaborate and engage in distance learning
Task
We ended Task 4 by reading about the four main ways that educators are using technology in education (see the four points above). In Task 5 we are going to investigate some tools which could be used for these purposes. In this task you are going to:
find out about Web 2.0 tools, and how they are impacting the use of the internet
explore different Web 2.0 tools
create a learning object
Procedure
Reading 1: read the Guardian article "Seconds out, round two." and complete an outline of the article.
Reading 2: take a look at the article "13 ways to learn in 2013" (you may want to look at the 2012, 2011, 2010 articles as well) and find 3 resources that you think would be useful in terms of what we have been studying on the course so far.
